Chief Eddy Martins Egwuenu

Chief Egwuenu is a distinguished and accomplished banker with over four (4) decades of financial management experience with solid educational background in Management, Accounting, Banking and Finance acquired in Nigeria, United Kingdom and the United States of America.

He joined New Nigeria Bank Limited in 1971 and rose to become the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer in 1987, a position he held until he retired in 1991. While at New Nigeria Bank, he had stints with Chase Manhattan Bank, New York, USA (1975-1976), Midland Bank London (1978), Manchester Business School, United Kingdom (1981-1982), University of Benin ((1986-1988) and The International Banking School, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA (1989-1990). He successfully managed several branches of New Nigeria Bank spread across many states of the Federation and the United Kingdom.

Chief Egwuenu is a major investor in key sectors of the economy. He is the executive chairman of Matbeny Holdings Limited, Multibanc Savings & Loans Limited, Capri-Martins Finance Limited and Multicurrency Bureau de Change Limited.

Mr. Efe Akhigbe

Mr. Akhigbe is a Co-CEO and leads the Debt Capital Market Group. He is a thoroughbred professional with over 30 years experience in the banking industry. His experience encompasses origination, structuring and execution. Efe started his banking career in Investment Banking at the First National Bank of Boston (NAMBL) where he garnered experience covering capital raising, corporate restructuring and financial advisory, mergers & acquisitions and specialised credits. His later worked with UBA Plc and was the Group Head in charge of Midwestern region overseeing major relationships in the public and commercial banking sectors of the bank. He returned to Investment Banking in UBA Plc setting up UBA Securities Limited that later changed to UBA Global Markets and later UBA Capital. Efe joined Dunn Loren Merrifield as pioneer Executive Director, and resigned in May 2011 to join in the setting up of Planet Capital Limited. He has been involved in landmark transactions for both corporate and government institutions and a Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) registered capital market operator.

Efe is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, holds an MSc in Financial Analysis and Fund Management from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom, an MBA from the University of Lagos and a BSc (Honours) degree in Business Administration from the University of Benin. He was a university scholar and the best graduating student in his department.

Dr. Tony Anonyai

Dr. Anonyai is a Co-CEO and leads the Strategic Advisory Group. He has extensive hands-on experience in corporate finance, corporate strategy, corporate accounting, and corporate governance, spanning about three decades. He was the founding Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Strategy & Arbitrage Limited, a brokerage and dealing member firm of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, one of the legacy companies in Planet Capital Limited. He began his career in the accounting firm of Anjous, Uku, Eweka & Co, Chartered Accountants, and later worked with the Programme Coordination & Management Unit of the European Union/Federal Government of Nigeria Joint Venture Oil Palm Belt Development Programme as the Project Accountant, and Capri-Martins Finance Limited as an Accountant before setting up Ouec Investment Limited, an investment consulting firm.

Tony holds a PhD in International Business (Finance Specialisation) from the International School of Management, Paris. In his dissertation, he investigated the impact of Corporate Governance, Ownership Structure, and Board Structure on Bank Performance using evidence from Nigeria for the period 2006 – 2016. He holds a Masters Degree in Banking and Finance from University of Lagos, and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered of Accountants of Nigeria, the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria; and an associate of the Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria. He is a Member of both the Institute of Directors, and the American Finance Association. He has attended a number of executive and professional development courses including: Advanced Accounting & Financial Management, University of North Texas (1998); Chief Executive Program, Lagos Business School (2008); and the Advanced Management Program, IESE Business School (2008). He sits on the board of Electronic PayPlus Limited, and Enterprise Leasing Company Limited. He is the Chairman of the statutory Audit Committee of Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc.

Chidi Agbapu

Mr. Agbapu is a Co-CEO and leads the Equity Capital Market Group. Before then, he was a co-founder and the chief executive officer of Emerging Capital Limited, a stock brokerage firm and member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Prior to joining Emerging Capital limited, he worked at Prominent Securities Limited where he trained as a dealing clerk and rose to become the chief dealer and head of securities trading. Chidi has over three decades experience in commercial and mortgage banking in Nigeria. He commenced his professional career with New Nigeria Bank Plc (now Unity Bank) where he was exposed to credit structuring, and was a founding partner in Financial Mortgage Limited. At various times, he has served as a director on the board of Central Securities Clearing system Plc (CSCS), MTI Plc (Ngeria), and Bendel Feeds & Flour Mills Plc. He is currently on the board of Fidelity Bank Plc, MTI Limited (Ghana), and General Cotton Mill Plc, and on the Council of the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Chidi holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Masters Degree in Banking and Finance (MBF) and Masters in International Law and Diplomacy (MILD) both from university of Lagos. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), and an associate member of both the Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria and Nigerian Institute of management (NIM).

Chief Franklyn Okeke

Chief Okeke is an entrepreneur par excellence with diversified interests in various sectors of the economy – Agriculture, Property Development and Manufacturing. His group of companies has the franchise of top European Utensils and Cosmetics brands covering Africa.

He is the Executive Chairman of Umobi Farms and Foods Processing Company Limited. He sits on the board of Anambra Group of Companies and Bufambra Industries Limited.

Dr Nosike Agokei

Dr. Nosike graduated from the University of Ibadan with a BSc degree in Economics; obtained an LLB degree from the University of Lagos and an MSc degree in Economics from the Enugu State University of Science & Technology; a doctorate degree from St. Clements University, British West Indies in 2005; a BL certificate from the Nigeria law School and was called to the Nigerian Bar.

He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators, London and Nigeria and, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria; a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK.

He has served on a number of Boards of public limited companies and private companies; served on Government committees in Delta State (Vision 2020 sub-committee on Manufacturing and Commerce); ESUT Business School Council. He worked in Nigerian Breweries Plc, AG Leventis Nigeria Plc, First City Monument Bank Plc and John Holt Plc as Group Managing Director/CEO until February, 2010. He is currently Group Managing Director, MTI Plc. He was an associate lecturer at the Enugu State University of Science & Technology Business School and has delivered academic papers at various professional institutes in corporate governance, law and corporate strategy.
