Mr Eddie Efekoha
Mr. Efekoha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Insurance and a Master’s degree in Business Administration both from the University of Lagos. He has worked with leading Insurance Brokerage firms in top executive positions including Hogg Robinson Nigeria, Glanvill Enthoven & Co (Nig.) and Fountain Insurance Brokers as pioneer MD/CEO. He was the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of Consolidated Risks Insurers and the 22nd Chairman of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA). He is the current President of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN)
Efe provides tactical leadership in the Debt Capital Market Services Group. He is a thorough-bred professional with over 23 years experience in the banking industry. His experience encompasses origination, structuring and execution. Efe started his banking career in Investment Banking at the First National Bank of Boston (NAMBL).
While at NAMBL, he had varied experiences including capital raising, corporate restructuring and financial advisory, mergers & acquisitions and specialised credits. His career later took him to UBA Plc where he handled major relationships in the public and commercial banking sectors of the bank as Group Head in charge of Midwestern region. He returned to Investment Banking in UBA Plc setting up UBA Securities Limited which changed to UBA Global Markets and later UBA Capital. Efe joined Dunn Loren Merrifield as pioneer Executive Director and resigned in May 2011 to join two other entrepreneurs to set up Planet Capital Limited.
Efe has been involved in landmark transactions for both corporate and government institutions raising capital in excess of US$5billion for the following clients amongst others: Nigerian Bottling Company Plc (Coca Cola Group), Ashaka Cement Plc (Lafarge Group), UBA Plc, Dangote Flour Plc (Dangote Group), First City Monument Bank Plc, Imo State & Ebonyi State Governments of Nigeria (ISPO-backed Bonds), etc. Efe is a Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) registered capital market operator. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, holds an MSc in Financial Analysis and Fund Management from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom, an MBA from the University of Lagos and a BSc. Honours degree in Business Administration from the University of Benin. He was a university scholar and the best graduating student in his department
Tony has extensive experience in financial intermediation, new business development, consulting and capital markets spanning over two decades. He was the founding Managing Director of Strategy & Arbitrage Limited, a brokerage and dealing member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
He began his career in the accounting firm of Anjous, Uku, Eweka & Co, Chartered Accountants. He also worked with the Programme Coordination & Management Unit of the European Union/Federal Government of Nigeria Joint Venture Oil Palm Belt Development Programme as the Project Accountant and Capri-Martins Finance Limited as an Accountant.
Mr. Anonyai is a Ph.D candidate at the International School of Management, Paris, with research interests in corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions. He holds a Masters Degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Lagos. He has attended a number of executive and professional development courses: University of North Texas, Denton Advanced Accounting & Financial Management (1998); Lagos Business School – Chief Executive Program (2008) and IESE Business School – Advanced Management Program (2008). He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered of Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria; an associate of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and the Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria; and the American Finance Association.
He sits on the board of Enterprise Leasing Company Limited, Electronic PayPlus Limited and Leverage Opportunities Limited and chairman, the Audit Committee of Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc.
Chidi provides strategic leadership in our Equity Capital Market Group. Before joining the firm, he was a co-founder and the chief executive officer of Emerging Capital Limited, a stock brokerage firm and member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Prior to joining Emerging Capital limited, he was at Prominent Securities Limited where he trained as a dealing clerk and rose to become the chief dealer and head of securities trading.
Chidi, an avowed entrepreneur, has over two decades experience in commercial and mortgage banking in Nigeria. He commenced his career in New Nigeria Bank Plc where he was exposed to credit structuring and was a founding partner in Financial Mortgage Limited, a primary mortgage institution where, as the head of treasury, he was involved in loan syndication for various real estate projects. He serves as director on the boards of Central Securities Clearing system Plc (CSCS), MTI Plc, MTI limited, Ghana, General Cotton Mill Plc, Onitsha, Bendel Feeds & Flour Mills Plc, and Chairman, Fidelity Bank Plc Audit Committee.
Chidi holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Masters Degree in Banking and Finance and Masters in International Law and Diplomacy both from university of Lagos. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), and an associate member of both the Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria and Nigerian Institute of management (NIM).
Sam heads the primary Debt Capital Markets unit and has over 14 years experience in Banking, Equity Capital Markets Execution, Mergers & Acquisitions and Financial Advisory Services. He began his Investment Banking career at the Capital Markets Group of NAL Bank Plc, now Sterling Bank Plc. He was a core member of the corporate finance team at Sterling Capital Markets Limited from where he moved to UBA Global Markets, which later became UBA Capital, the investment banking subsidiary of UBA Group. He left UBA Capital as an Assistant Vice President to become a pioneer staff, Vice President and Head of Corporate Finance at Dunn Loren Merrifield.
Sam has worked on numerous high profile transactions, raising in excess of $1.5 billion for various institutions including Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, May & Baker Plc, Continental Reinsurance Plc, Eternal Oil & Gas Plc, Dangote Flour Plc, Niger State Government, Chams Plc, Ebonyi State Government, Chellarams Plc, Tower Aluminium Group, Dana Group of Companies Plc, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria amongst others. He worked on the restructuring of Virgin Nigeria’s operations and debt facility.
He holds a BSc. Degree (2.1) in Business Management from the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus (1999) and an MBA with specialty in Finance, from the University of Lagos (2015). He has attended a number of executive courses: Lagos Business School – Chief Executive Program (2015) and IESE Business School, Barcelona Spain – Advanced Management Program (2015).
Ete Ogun is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a seasoned financial services professional with over 15 years’ experience from both banking and non-banking financial institutions. Ete’s professional experience spans areas of asset management and portfolio advisory, fund accounting and reporting, financial analysis, banking operations and private wealth services.
Her career path includes engagements with establishments such as Ernst and Young (Chartered Accountants), Access Bank Plc (formerly Intercontinental Bank Plc) and Stanbic IBTC Asset Management Limited (a member of the Standard Bank Group) before joining the Planet Capital Group.
Ete is the Managing Director of PlanetCap Asset Management Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Planet Capital Limited. PlanetCap Asset Management Limited is licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission(SEC) to provide portfolio and investment advisory services to High Networth Individuals, Corporates and Institutions as well as Endowments.
Ete is a graduate of accounting from the University of Benin, She has masters in Finance and Investment from the University of Exeter United Kingdom. She is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a CFA level 2 candidate.
Ete is passionate about wealth creation through systemic financial planning. She is keen on bridging the deficit-surplus gap using asset management whilst ensuring best returns for clients and stakeholders.
